Delhi is set to expand its metro network with three new corridors totaling over 16 kilometers, at an estimated cost of ₹11,150 crore. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and ease congestion in the national capital.

1. R K Ashram to Indraprastha Corridor

This underground corridor will be the longest among the three, featuring nine stations:

  • R K Ashram Marg
  • Shivaji Stadium
  • Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum
  • Central Secretariat
  • Bharat Mandapam
  • Baroda House
  • India Gate
  • C-Hexagon
  • Indraprastha

This corridor will connect the Green Line (Indralok-Indraprastha) with the Blue Line and the Janakpuri West-R K Ashram Marg corridor, reducing footfall at Rajiv Chowk and providing direct access to key government buildings along Kartavya Path.

2. Aerocity to Terminal-1 Corridor

Spanning 2.3 kilometers, this underground extension will have a single station at Terminal-1. It will improve airport connectivity for residents of Tughlakabad, Khanpur, Saket, Mehrauli, and Vasant Kunj, and facilitate easier access for commuters from Faridabad via the Tughlakabad interchange.

3. Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj Corridor

This approximately 4-kilometer elevated corridor will include three stations:

  • Ali Village
  • Ali Vihar
  • Madanpur Khadar

It will provide an interchange at Kalindi Kunj with the existing Magenta Line, enhancing connectivity between the Violet and Magenta corridors.

These projects are part of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV expansion and are expected to receive Cabinet approval soon. Once completed, they will significantly improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion in Delhi.
